As part of our commitment to Drive Away Hunger, FCC provides funding for school-based food assistance programs. Eligible uses include:

• purchase, transportation and distribution of nutritious food
• purchase, installation or repair of equipment needed for programs
• costs related to implementing programs

Who can apply

• Schools

Who can apply on behalf of schools

• First Nation, Inuit or Métis community groups and tribal councils
• Registered charities with the Canada Revenue Agency or non-profit organizations
• Public school boards and parent councils
  • if an organization is applying on behalf of several schools, a list of those schools is required

Funding available

• $1000 per school

Who cannot apply

• For-profit entities
• Private schools and daycares

How schools are selected

• We seek a geographical spread to support communities from coast to coast to coast every year. If you receive a quick decline, it means funding in that area has already been allocated. If it is slower, we may be measuring your application against another in your area.

If your request is accepted, unless otherwise agreed to in advance and in writing, there are no reporting requirements tied to the funding.

Application Process

1. You can preview the questions using the "Print" link at the top right corner of the page. You may choose to print or save this copy, and prepare your answers in advance to avoid losing your work if the application times out (after 4 hours of inactivity).
2. On average, it takes 20 minutes to complete the application.
3. All questions marked with * are mandatory.
4. You will receive a PDF copy of your submission attached to the confirmation email.
5. You will receive an email regarding the outcome of your funding request within 30 days of applying.
